I read the first book. It started out good but let down a little at the end. I had a look at the rest of the series and thought bugger it, not worth it.

Did he finish the series or did he chuck a Frank Herbert?

He was about to write up the last book.

I think he left a lot of notes and ideas, and also told close family/friends the plot threads, so should he die before it was finished there's still a means to get it written.

I'm wrapping up the 4th atm. It's definitely starting to stretch out and be less interesting. I'm hoping that the steam that kept me interested in the first few books will be able to convince me to finish them.
