My crazy ex just sent me a link to this self-therapy page (note: she's a therapist) because I've been freezing her out (note: because she's crazy) and apparently she's trying to subtly suggest that I'm the one who needs help. Never mind that she's the only person who's acting the way she's acting, and I'm doing fine socially as far as other people go (better than before, in fact!).
Anyhow, here's the link. A couple of choice quotes: Quote:

Why is it that every girl I've ever met pursuing a psychology degree is nuts?

I think the worst part is that through learning psychology, they learn to manipulate people by learning how the mind responds to different actions and situations, and so they become much more effective at being crazy bitches. But that's just my theory. |

The old stereotype is that people go into psychology to understand their mental problems.

"It only matters if you care what they think" should have been the whole text in that link.

In general, we subconsciously teach/train others how to treat us. We cannot CONTROL other people and how they react, but we can control how WE react to them. In aggregrate, our own behavior has a massive impact on how others treat us--how we come across, how we react, how we handle ourselves, etc. Even if a specific individual doesn't treat you the way you WANT to be treated, you can still either alter your own behavior to get the desired effect or at the worst case, simply eliminate/go around (i.e. NEXT) the individual.
