You really think so? Perhaps you only believe that because of John Nash and the Cold War and the way Game Theory was incorporated into domestic politics shortly after.

in other words, I think this is a social construct.

Not with our current population. In short there are too many people and too few resources. That leads to competition for resources frequently in the form of war and/or local conflict. If there where strict population controls and we where still able to match current production levels of food, fuel and housing then I think conflict would no longer be necessary. It might still happen but it would likely be under different auspices.

Simply put, no. I mean, just look at history - have you ever seen any time period where there was anything even remotely close to world peace? As long as there are people there will be fights over resources and mates, and, as highly developed beings, the desire to dominate and control others.

Yes and no. I see humans being peaceful but it is so far in the future that we'll probably have left this world so it won't be world peace.

It was just on my mind one day and it occurred on me that we probably won't ever have world peace, and I wondered what other people's thoughts were. I like to get other people's opinions/thoughts on things.
