View Full Version : Getting slimmer...
BigPizzle 05-13-2007, 04:10 PM I'm not sure what I started at about 3 months ago but I'm assuming around 325 lbs. I am currently a svelt 278.5 and still have another month to go before I travel to Vegas.
I am officially proud of myself.
themuz 05-13-2007, 09:15 PM Holy shit fatman.

Never denied it... but soon I will be able to...

How did you know?
Haha this is perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Everyone around me is telling me how good I look and I knew you douchebags would bust me down a peg to get in the right frame of mind for the final month before my trip.
Just make sure to stay slimmer. Not jojo back to half a ton 3 years later. kthx.
oddman 05-14-2007, 05:20 AM I went to the States for a month in October and gained at least 5 lbs.
Then I went home to Yurp and promptly lost it all again.
It must be something in the water or something over there.
That, or the omnipresence of fast food.
Don't eat fast food; it is bad for you.

I never really ate unhealthily except when I was drunk. Oh and when I drank, I drank alot.
So I figure staying off the booze has helped immensely and as long as I continue to do so, there won't be much of a problem.

I don't think that there's a society on earth more saturated with fast food chains than the United States. I think that apparently people didn't learn enough from the movie Supersize Me. Unless you're getting a salad there aren't any healthy options at 9/10 fast food resturaunts. MSG = the Devil. That is all.

It's not that people really didn't learn from Supersize Me. It's the fact that they think it's Hollywood propaganda and didn't really care. The only good fast food really and if it's near you are Saladworks, Panera Bread, Quiznos, Subway, and Quedoba.
Also, if you're going to start working out, I suggest you start eating those Special K meal bars. Either eat two a day as breakfast and lunch. You could also eat one a day for lunch and have fruit salad for breakfast.
themuz 05-14-2007, 07:13 PM Exercise dude. That's where it's at bro. Eat all you want and as long as you pump out more calories, you will 1) gain muscle and 2) lose fat. Easy equation right thurr.
disgustipated 05-14-2007, 07:41 PM Also in that Supersize movie I read somewhere(here?) that he was consuming over 5000 fucking calories a day. In fairness ANYONE would gain a lot of weight eating that much a day, that's A LOT of fucking calories a day by the way! That could also be what contributed to his health problems too as opposed to "what" he was eating. I'm not saying McDonalds is good food by any stretch of the imagination((I avoid it like the plague) but that whole experiment should've been done on a far more reasonable caloric intake for the average adult male, not average adult male bodybuilder in his bulking phase.
oddman 05-14-2007, 11:32 PM And what's the deal with all you Merkins with adding sugar to bloody everything? And drinking sugary soda pop along with breakfast, lunch and dinner? That's the kicker. Drink water instead and don't eat foods with added sugar, that should make a big difference.
Chris435435 05-15-2007, 10:24 AM buy whey protein... turn that fat into muscle
Dr. Nobody 05-15-2007, 10:30 AM I lost 40lbs eating cheesesteaks and playing DDR for 4 hours a day. I might start writing books and become a millionaire.
BigPizzle 05-15-2007, 11:22 AM I was contemplating buying DDR for this very reason. But in the end I decided going to the gym was a better option.
That and I like Guitar Hero way way better...
Coltrane 05-16-2007, 05:19 PM I'm thinking of burning off a little bellyfat myself in the summer. I won't have school, or a job, and I'll have a hell of a lot of time. I'm only thinking like ten pounds or something though, I'm only a little bit chubby, people even call me "skinny" at times, but I think they're shitting me :p
So, would the best way to do that be to just go running everyday, or is it true that gaining more muscle throughout your body makes your body burn fat a little faster? If so, maybe I'll start pumping the iron with my friends at the gym, too, although it would obviously be good to do that anyway. Keep in mind I'm thinking of losing like ten pounds I have have two months to do that, so the most rigorous excercise is not needed... so would running alone be good enough?

Depending on diet running should suffice if you just wanna lose 10 pounds, however make sure you do it for half an hour every other day at least.

Regardless of total caloric intake it shouldn't (not isn't) be possible to get that many calories from simply eating 3 meals a day. I think the point of the movie was to further emphasize just how bad that food is for you. Hell Hungry Man TV dinners has or had a meal which clocked in at 6000-7000 calories (I forget). That's more than I eat in a day in one meal. Bleh.

A 6000-7000 calorie meal as a TV dinner? I don't buy that.

My mistake upon further checking I am unable to verify or support that.

Alright. I'm going to need to work my way up to half an hour though, I probably couldn't run that long... only 15 or 20 minutes max. I'll start running more often to improve my lung capacity.
Human fighter 05-30-2007, 07:54 AM even if you cantrun for an hour you can do other things in conjunction with that to bring your total workout up to a half hour? I read that all it takes is half an hour of active workout to burn the 250 backup calories your body keeps on hand at all times as "instant energy" so if you run and then workout or something untill you can hit 100% running you should be good to go I would think... Oh yeah and you need to drink a ton of water :P
