Some stuff from the old trailer, a few really cool new shots, some bad CGI (hoping it is just unfinished).

Cicada 10-24-2008, 10:14 AM no kidding.
Paulybobs 10-24-2008, 02:37 PM Repped, thank you!!!
Paulybobs 10-24-2008, 03:18 PM I came. This film is going to be incredible.
Paulybobs 10-24-2008, 03:27 PM Also as regards to the CG, the movie isn't out for ages, and early trailers always have crappy CG (Rise of the Silver Surfer, Cloverfield, Transformers e.t.c) so it'll definitely get better.
Cicada 10-24-2008, 04:25 PM i just watched it and noticed it wasn't really new, few things that werent in the original trailer [i guess an alt trailer as revealed by the file name]. but still fucking awesome in HD.
Cicada 10-24-2008, 04:34 PM i keep watching it. the trailer is fucking awesome.
Paulybobs 10-24-2008, 05:18 PM I know me too, I haven't been excited over a movie in quite a while but this has me going.
From what I've heard it's a pretty faithful and awesome adaptation considering it's a big complex graphic novel, although the ending has a major difference (apparently). Veidt's plan is still the same and the outcome is still the same, it's just the er... method of delivery doesn't involve anything quite as fantastical as the original. Still works plot and intent wise though so I'm ok with it.
Cicada 10-24-2008, 11:18 PM originally i was mad that alan moore allowed it to happen, but after seeing and hearing about it, i'm actually excited for it now.
I really need to re-read it before it comes out
March 6, '09, is it?

Hollywood despises Alan Moore, it seems. They always manage to screw something up.
Paulybobs 10-25-2008, 09:39 AM The guy directing this has a Peter Jackson level love for the graphic novel so unlike other Moore adaptations you should see a fairly accurate rendition, although obviously he's had to cut some stuff out. The whole Black Freighter comic-within-a-comic is cut out (but will be on the DVD version), and the newspaper articles after each chapter are worked into the credits at the start. The guy that does Ain't It Cool or whatever thought the rough version he saw was excellent. It's 2 hours 45 mins long as far as I know, so hopefully most of the things cut out will be fairly minor.
