OK, so I'm just wondering where to get started putting together a diet. I don't really follow any kind of diet. I eat a lot of meat, because thats what I like, so I get my protein. But I also eat a lot of crap. I could probably use to get a little leaner. Just looking for some basic advice. Thanks.

First and foremost: Whatever you do dont make too big changes too quickly. It will fuck with your stomach.

Increase your protein intake. Increase raw veggies. Your intake of carbs should be reduced naturally by doing those changes. Reduce junk food. Remeber small changes: If you like meat just eat more meat instead of introducing something new.

Then there is the thing about eating periodicity. For some it works best to try to reduce the amount of times they eat. Especially when eating highcarb food. For some it works better to increase. Depends a bit on your lifestyle with workout and such.

i wouldnt trust him, he doesnt know how to spell.

it isnt going to "fuck with your stomach", it will fuck with your metabolism, your stomach will decrease in size the less you let yourself eat, but this isnt a harmful effect. your metabolism is what burns calories, if you eat a lot, it speeds up a smidge, and if you eat a little, it slows down a smidge. dont try to eat a lot to lose weight, eating less will always equate to losing weight.

dont try any scientific diets because they are all full of shit, and shitty food. decrease your general caloric intake, decrease carbs and increase protein and you will win! make sure your output calories is higher than your caloric intake. haxxorz!

Nietzsche has good advice ill just try and expand on it slightly

Don't eat 3 "big" meals a day, its much better to eat 6 smaller meals over the course of a day (every 3 hours or so), an increase in protien is good, it will increase your metabolism, when this happens, you will burn more fat over the course of a day, try and keep carbohydrate intake to mornings, you'll need it first thing as your body needs the energy to keep you going.

doing weights in the gym is also good, also increases your metabolism, helpin you burn that fat and of course keeps your muscles lookin good.

if you want to burn fat its also important to do some cv, diet is most important of course, but cv wont hurt, if you can, do some in the morning before you eat anything (so you straight burn into fat) then eat some carbs afterwards to get the energy back into em, you dont have to work hard, just 60-70% of your max heart rate is good

you can find alot more information at forums like muscletalk (just google it) you'll find out alot more (and can even get personalized dietry programs and the like)

its a good thing to be interested in because you can never look too good

i wouldnt trust him, he doesnt know how to spell.

Another true story.

My point with taking it easy though is to avoid or overshoot the possibility of flatulence, runs and other minor problems that could become serious if you're hardheaded enough to overdo things. Intestines and their bacteria constitutes a fickly system.

Hello!! I am new to the forum, but have been a fan for a while now. I would like to hear some thoughts on good foods for snacking. I am going with the three small meals and three snacks diet and while i like the system, i am really at a wall when it comes to appropriate snack items. I usually go with fruit, almonds/other nuts, raisins and maybe a little granola. I need some input on some other good things to shake up the monotony a little bit. Thanks!

Snacks: tuna, almonds, peanut butter, deli meats, lowfat cheese, hard boiled eggs

It all depends on your goal, those are ideal for losing weight (low carb, high protein)

If you are normal weight and have been that way for long-term than the possibilities are endless...

What T'rock said. There are also some other types of milk products you can try like cottage cheese and there are some types of 'curds' you can get around here but I dont know the US names for them. One of the types have alot of quick whey proteins that are perfect for snacking.

Some veggies makes the protein taste better and helps digesting. Milk type protein seems to go better with fruits.

If you're trying to gain muscle, through Whey Protein Shakes in there.
If you're trying to lose weight, through in those instant breakfast shakes / Slim Fast. Don't feel like a woman just because you are drinking Slim Fast, it is good for you.

Smoothies can work too, but make sure you make them yourself, and don't throw too many sugary foods in it. Keep it to Ice + some milk + 1 banana + a few strawberries and the like.

thanks for the tips guys. I have been using whey protein for about two years now, though im done to my last scoops. I use Cytosport Muscle Milk. But probably going to go with some generic brand X because its that time of the month...for rent to be due. :D
